(1948- ) South African author, in Australia from 1972, active from the early 1980s, most of her work being picture books for younger readers [not listed below], with various illustrators. Some have been designed as Young Adult tales, the most interesting of these from an sf perspective perhaps being Woolvs in the Sitee (2006 graph) with Anne Spudvilas, whose young protagonist must face down his fears, which amount to an understandable agoraphobia, and step back into the Near Future Dystopian Post-Holocaust City from which he has taken cover in a fragile safe house, or (it seems) die.
