Working name of US magician and author Carl Anthony Fulves (1938-2023), who published many books and essays about stage magic, card tricks and sleight of hand, including a series on "self-working" tricks for Dover Books [not listed below]; he edited several magic-related journals. His one work of sf, Aftermath: Stories from the Rigel War (coll of linked stories 1976), is both a "force book" designed to aid mind-reading tricks (in which the mentalist divines which words or pages have been selected by an audience member) and a linked sequence of effectively written tales about a Near Future Invasion of Earth by Nazi-like Aliens from Rigel. These invaders deploy a variety of fearsome and advanced Weapons, as do the human defenders. [DRL]
