Holden, Fox B

Entry updated 23 February 2026. Tagged: Author.

(1923-1973) US journalist and author who began to publish work of genre interest with "Stop, Thief!" in Thrilling Wonder Stories for Winter 1945 and until 1956 continued to appear in various contemporary SF Magazines, including If, Imagination, Planet Stories, Startling Stories and Super Science Stories; he was twice bylined as Fox Holden with no middle initial. In "The Death Star" (April 1951 Super Science Stories), a space prospector discovers an Asteroid harbouring a seeming Utopia which proves to be illusion, a shared dream of its humanoid inhabitants who are happy in a kind of Suspended Animation. Holden's one book-length work long existed only in magazine serial form but was posthumously published: The Time Armada (October-November 1953 Imagination; 2010), a tale of adventure and intrigue amid Parallel Worlds.
