(? - ) US author whose first novel, Dry Lands (2024), set in a Near Future world half-drowned by a vast flood seeming caused by a tipping-point event (see Climate Change), follows a mother's attempts to get her child to safety across an incipient Ruined Earth. In her second novel, Opposite World (2025), a young woman, having escaped her father's tyrannical immuring of his family in the wilderness (see Survivalist Fiction), finds a transformed world; here, a Technology known as The Reverie Cloud allows dreams to govern Virtual Reality worlds, ostensibly for therapeutic purposes. Her attempts to awaken her comatose mother expose her to the true nature of the new, curated, Dystopian reality of things. [JC]
