Working name of French-born lawyer, optometrist and author Teresa Terry (? - ), mostly in Canada from infancy, in UK from 2004; the young protagonist of the Young Adult Slated sequence, comprising Slated (2012), Fractured (2013) and Shattered (2014), has suffered a Memory Edit at the hands of a tyrannical Near Future government, but begins to regain flashes of events whose unpacking clearly imperil the Dystopian regime that has assigned her to missions she is forbidden to understand; a prequel, Fated (2019), which is set in post-Brexit Britain, provides some explanation for the savage dysfunctions examined in the main trilogy. Mind Games (2015) plays with analogous dilemmas of Perception and reality-testing, in this case in a Near Future world whose inhabitants are injuriously immersed in Virtual Reality environments. [JC]
