Weiss, Allan

(1956-    ) Canadian author, academic at York University, Toronto, and sf scholar who began to publish work of genre interest with "Satanesque" in The Literary Magazine of Fantasy and Terror #6 (1974), a more professional Semiprozine appearance being "Tuparosh" (January 1977 Space and Time). A number of further stories followed: Making the Rounds (coll 2016) assembles eight, all published in the new century with four original to this collection.

Weiss has also edited two symposium volumes of Canada-focused Fantastika scholarship: Further Perspectives on the Canadian Fantastic: Proceedings of the 2003 Academic Conference on Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy (anth 2005) and The Canadian Fantastic in Focus: New Perspectives (anth 2014). More recently he published the useful overview The Routledge Introduction to Canadian Fantastic Literature (2021). [DRL]
