(1962-    ) US editor, author and scriptwriter, a former editor at Pocket Books where for many years he oversaw that publisher's numerous Ties to the Star Trek franchise. He began to publish fiction of genre interest with "Thus I Refute Kafka" in New Destinies for Fall 1990, releasing several further stories up to 2001 and publishing some reviews in The New York Review of Science Fiction. He co-edited the first seven volumes of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Original Anthology sequence, which published the winners and runners-up in a competition for new franchise stories by fans, the first volume being Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (anth 1998) edited with Paula M Block and Dean Wesley Smith.

With David Mack, Ordover co-scripted two episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999) and the Comics miniseries Star Trek: Divided We Fall (2001 4vols), a crossover between Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He left Pocket Books in 2003, moving into book packaging and becoming part-owner of the publisher Phobos Books; he also founded, owns and runs the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art in New York. [DRL]
