Swallow, James
Entry updated 11 September 2023. Tagged: Author.
(1969- ) UK scriptwriter and author, most of whose books are Ties to various Television series. His first series, however – the Sundowners sequence beginning with Ghost Town (2001) and set in a Steampunk-like mythical West threatened by a supernatural evil from deep Underground – is not tied. Swallow may be best known for his numerous contributions to the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop Wargame, beginning with Warhammer 40,000: Blood Angels: Deus Encarmine (2004) in the Blood Angels series set within the overall universe. He has also contributed ties to the Star Trek universe beginning with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Terek Nor, Day of the Vipers 2318-2328 (2008).
Of his single contributions or Ties to various series, the Board Game-linked Tannhäuser: Enigma (2013) is of interest for its Alternate History setting. [JC]
