(? - ) US engineer, teacher and author, his business activities beginning around 1960, active as a writer much later. He is of sf interest for the Young Adult Shadow Warriors sequence beginning with Shadow Warriors (2018), in which a clutch of variously empowered youngsters, who have been discommoded by childhood experiences, awaken on a Starship as shanghaied cadets in a Space Opera conflict that expands through several volumes as they become more and more important (see Military SF) in events. His second sequence, the Portals of Hell series beginning with The Portals of Hell (2020), combines Space Opera and dynastic fantasy. In his third sequence, the Subway Trilogy series beginning with Subway to the Stars (2021), the attempted exploitation of a Wormhole Technology opens a gate for an Alien Invasion. The Freedom Conspiracy (2020), like all his series a Young Adult tale, subjects its young protagonist on the Moon to many adventures in search of his missing mine-consultant father. The protagonist of I, One (2021), an Android who gains competence in various fields of endeavour, must confront a world civilization that has taken against manufactured beings. [JC]
