(1927-2005) US editor and artist born Carol Metcalf Ulf, whose married surnames were Stanton (L Jerome Stanton, 1940s associate editor of Astounding), Pohl while with Frederik Pohl 1953-1983, and later Wilson (Stanley Wilson, 1989). She was active in New York and New Jersey Fandom from the 1950s; her first work of genre interest comprised five interior illustrations in Galaxy for October 1967.
With her husband Frederik Pohl she edited and introduced four sf Anthologies including the Science Fiction: The Great Years diptych opening with Science Fiction: The Great Years (anth 1973). She also created the cover artwork depicting Pohl for the special issue of F&SF (September 1973) celebrating his work. [DRL]
