eFanzines.com

Entry updated 15 September 2025. Tagged: Community, Fan, Publisher.

Online Fanzine resource founded in December 2000 by UK-born fan Bill Burns (1947-    ), long resident in the US, who continues to maintain the website. Though including much historical material, eFanzines.com leans towards archiving contemporary fanzines as they appear, now typically as PDF originals rather than the scans from paper format preferred by the site's chief "rival" The Fanac Fan History Project. Fanzines with entries in this encyclopedia hosted at eFanzines.com include Critical Wave, The Drink Tank, Energumen, Futurian War Digest, The Metaphysical Review, Prolapse/Relapse, SF Commentary, Science-Fiction Five-Yearly and Steam Engine Time. The now very large eFanzines archive also includes fan publications by Graham Charnock, Richard E Geis, Earl Kemp, the N3F, Steve Sneyd, Jack Speer, Walt Willis and Susan Wood, as well as such miscellanea as APA mailings, Convention publications and scans of UK convention badge designs, the history of the Doc Weir Award, Fan Fund winners' trip reports, photographs, special publications and more.

eFanzines.com received FAAn Awards in the category of best website for eleven successive years, 2008-2018; the site and Bill Burns also received a special FAAn Award in 2004, before the annual website category was introduced, and another in 2019 after the category was discontinued. Bill Burns and his wife Mary Burns were inducted into the First Fandom Hall of Fame in 2024. [DRL]
